The day has ended, and around you you follow soldiers rest from the day's taxing duties; food dishes clink and stories are swapped. Rats poke out in search for food scraps. You can hear the night patrol marching outside, and your comrade beside you sleeps deeply. You're writing a letter home, sharing the occasional ciggarette with your fellow men.
